All That Lingers
This project has been created during a 2 months-residency at The Growlery in San Francisco, CA.
“Memories are motionless, and the more securely they are fixed in space, the sounder they are.” The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard
All That Lingers is a series of photographs and texts that explore the interplay between memory and place. The way perception of our environment shifts when tied to a meaningful experience and the memory of that experience forever lingers in a space. For this project, I asked contributors to share with me a piece of personal, important news that they have received in their life. I then photographed the space where the participant received the news. Devoid of human presence and captured with certain physical and emotional distance, these places are presented as if they have a life of their own, hidden from the eye.
